16-02-2010    No mess, no fuss – the Belt Drive and Van Nicholas

At Van Nicholas, we’re always looking for the most effective design solution. Take our new Belt Drive system, for example. We realised that the benefits of minimal maintenance and tough, easy-to-clean durability would be perfect for our long-range touring bikes. And the same could be said for our urban/commuter range. But there was one problem: how do you fit an unbreakable belt through solid Titanium? In true Van Nicholas style, after a lot of hard work and obsessing over the details, we designed the drop outs that allow the system to be integrated with our frames. It wasn’t simple, but it is effective.

  • A Belt Drive won’t rust, so lasts longer than a regular metal chain.
  • Lubrication is not required...
  • ...so no more oil stains on your trouser legs.
  • A Belt Drive weighs less than a regular chain.
  • It is easier to clean than a chain – there’s nowhere for mud to hide.
  • A Belt Drive is quieter than a regular chain. Check out now
24-11-2009    New – Lightweight VNT Carbon Wheelset

Van Nicholas are on a roll!

Van Nicholas, the Dutch family-owned Titanium bike company, are pleased to announce the launch of their new, lightweight VNT Carbon Wheelset.

We’ve used our ten years experience designing top-of-the-range Titanium products to create direct and responsive 5cm carbon clincher rims, which deliver the ultimate sportive ride. Included in the price are carbon-specific brake-shoes to ensure safe and measured braking, because the faster you go, the harder it is to stop! The complete set tips the scales at an impressive 1,720g, and the price is lightweight, too - just €799!

The VNT components range has been developed to complement the range of award-winning Van Nicholas Titanium bikes, with the same commitment to totally fit-for-purpose design. From bottle racks and seat-post clamps, to carbon forks and saddles, there’s something to suit even the most demanding cyclist. See image
